Our Story

AOKI HIFUKU Co., Ltd.

Founded in 1961, AOKI HIFUKU Co., Ltd. is a denim factory with over 60 years of history, based in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture. The company’s core business is the manufacturing and sales of denim products.

In the 1970s, the company expanded its operations by establishing its own factories both in Japan and overseas.

In 2010, Toshiki Aoki launched the collection “FAGASSENT,” marking the beginning of full-scale collection development. The brand subsequently debuted at the Paris and Milan Men’s Collections.

In recent years, he has produced stage costumes for renowned artists including B’z, ONE OK ROCK, Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi, and YOSHIKI (X JAPAN).

AOKI DENIM was launched as a fusion of Japanese classic craftsmanship and modern presence.

AOKI DENIM is defined by the beauty of high-quality Japanese denim fabrics produced in Ibara City, Okayama—an area where mineral-rich rivers create an ideal environment for denim production.

In Japan, this region is often regarded as a sanctuary of denim, due to its natural conditions—such as water quality and expansive land— as well as its long history of skilled denim craftsmanship.

Retail Expansion

The retail business began in 2018. Today, AOKI HIFUKU operates five stores: three in Kurashiki, one in Asakusa, and one in Taipei.

Indigo (Ai) & Wa (Japanese Essence)

With “Indigo (Ai)” and “Wa (Japanese essence)” as its core themes, the brand develops a distinctive worldview using high-quality Japanese materials.

The company has also gained recognition for its spatial design projects, including the concept car “BLUE DRIVE” created in collaboration with MINI Okayama, and the “Premium Dome Ai” developed in partnership with Kurashiki Glamping SORANIA.
