Okayama sashiko denim and Kyoto Nishijin textile come together in a special collaboration between two distinct Japanese weaving traditions.

The Fūjin motif is not printed onto the surface. It is formed through woven texture, color, and thread.

Concept

This KIMONOT® combines black sashiko denim from Okayama with a Nishijin-woven depiction of Fūjin, the Japanese deity traditionally associated with wind.

The textured black denim creates subtle depth as it responds to light, while the woven Fūjin panel introduces a restrained contrast through metallic threads and dimensional pattern.

Rather than applying a Japanese motif as decoration, the design brings together two textile traditions through the structure and material of the garment itself.

Material & Details

• Okayama Sashiko Denim
  Black cotton denim with a raised, sashiko-inspired weave. Its textured surface creates depth and quiet variation depending on the light and movement of the wearer.
• Nishijin-Woven Fūjin
  The front features a textile panel woven in the Nishijin tradition of Kyoto. Fūjin is expressed through interwoven threads rather than surface printing, giving the motif dimension and a tactile presence.
• KIMONO-Inspired Sleeves
  Straight, generous sleeves reference the structure of traditional Japanese clothing, creating space between the body and the fabric.
• T-Shirt Ease
  Designed to be worn with the ease of a T-shirt, while creating a more defined silhouette through its wide proportions.
